Tagara, commonly known as Indian Valerian grows mainly in Kashmir areas. The plant have excellent antipoisonous actions. The name itself means that it can act against compound poison and is a very good antidote for Poisonous conditions. It is also known as Natam due to its antipoisonous nature.

- In Cough (Kasa) – Powder of rootof Tagara is taken with honey to cure cough.

- As a carminative (Deepana) – Tagara powdered and taken before food. It can act as a carminative.
- In Fever (Jwara) due to Vata– Decoction made of Tagara is taken to cure fever due to Vata dosha.
- As strength promoter (Balya) -Tagara is powdered and taken with milk.
