The Mission and vision of ASCIA are to advance the science and practice of allergy and clinical immunology by giving prominence to education and the highest standards of ethical medical practice.
When was it Established?
It was formed by the merging of the Australian society of clinical immunology group and the Australian College of allergy in 1991.
What does It Do?
It hosts ASCIA Annual Conference and other educational meetings every year where they publish various articles and posters on Clinical immunology and allergy. In addition to this, it also provides online training courses and online educational resources.
This is in brief about ASCIA – Australian society of clinical immunology and Allergy. But, why are we discussing it today? This is the main doubt that pops up in our minds. We are more than happy and grateful to announce that ASCIA’s annual conference of 2021 which was held from 1st September to 3rd September and Dr. Sahil Gupta from the Institute of Applied Food Allergy® (IAFA®) along with other healthcare professionals participated the conference virtually and submitted a poster presentation on food allergies and how they can be treated with age-old therapy, Ayurveda. ASCIA annual conference 2022 is going to be held from 30th August to 2nd September.
ASCIA’S 2021 Annual Conference
During this conference, Dr. Gupta along with the other two Doctor’s, Lalita Jindal and Sabapathi Subiramanian gave a poster presentation on Ayurveda (The ancient Indian science of life) as an alternative approach to allergy management in the Indian subcontinent.
A Brief About the Poster
ASCIA – Australian society of clinical immunology and Allergy annual conference 2021 was successfully held and Lalita Jindal, Dr. Sahil Gupta and Sabapathi Subiramanian presented a poster. Ayurveda is an ancient medicine dating back to 5000 years ago and is widely practiced in India. It uses ayurvedic herbs and spiritual practices for the wellness of a being. Ayurveda terms Allergies “Srotas Ati Pravruti” which means body channels hyperactivity. Ayurveda defines imbalance in the three doshas as the main reason for allergies.
